Student that is ranked in another art, won’t take advice of Sempi?

We have an older gentlemen who is ranked about 4th dan in tkd, who takes our Aikido class. He will not take advice of myself, a Sempi at the Aikido school, or even the instructor. He insists that because of his “rank” he knows better than we do. I enjoy working out with the guy but I won’t correct him anymore. He flat out refuses to take any advice. This has been going on for over a year now. Am I wrong ? I’ll work out and train with him but will not correct him anymore. He is one that is going for his black belt (see other message) In all honesty, in my view, he will not pass. If he were to execute against someone with resistance he can never do the skill. Only when we let him will he “execute the tech”. Head instructor and the two Sempi had a meeting about this and I am just wondering how would you handle a student like this? He has been know to make comments about his rank in tkd, as if that translates to Aikido? Advice on this.
I am not in charge of anything at that school. I only help out as Sempi (Niban sempi at that) The head instructor and Ichiban have all the say. He’s been in class for several years now, and has never listened but now that he is “getting rank” it is getting worse.
